Commentator Konstantin Genich has shared his forecast for the Akron vs. Rostov match in the Russian Premier League.
His pick is a draw at odds of 3.30.
“A crucial game will take place in Samara, where Akron hosts Rostov. After a vital win in Kaspiysk against Makhachkala’s Dynamo, Rostov has almost secured a comfortable finish to the season. They may still need one more point, so I expect Rostov to arrive in Samara with the intent not to lose, especially on the less-than-ideal pitch,” Genich said.
“Akron will be without Dzyuba. Some say this could actually benefit them by making the team faster. However, Dzyuba has been decisive in many difficult matches for Akron, either turning things around or at least keeping the game interesting. He held the ball up well, laid it off to teammates, and was always dangerous from set pieces. How Akron will cope without him remains a big question mark.”
“In their last match, the Tolyatti side used a back three, but that was against Krasnodar. Here, coach Tedeev might mirror Rostov’s formation to minimize risks. A draw would be a decent result for Akron, especially since their next game is a direct derby against Krylya Sovetov. They absolutely cannot afford to lose to Rostov here.”
“I think a draw suits both teams. I rarely pick a straight draw, but this one feels strategically convenient for everyone involved,” Genich added.
