The 2025-2026 Shinhan SOL Bank Handball H League, which concluded on the 3rd, is defined by Incheon Metropolitan Corporation’s overwhelming offensive power in the men’s division, the collapse of the Doosan dynasty, and the dawn of the SK dynasty in the women’s division.
According to the season wrap-up data released by the Korea Handball Federation on the 13th, Incheon Metropolitan Corporation captured the regular season title with an impressive 21 wins and 4 losses (42 points), becoming the first men’s team to surpass 700 goals in a single season. They scored a total of 733 goals, showcasing their formidable offensive strength.
Without any major roster additions, the team maximized speed by relying on young players. Led by the “terrifying three-back” line of center back Yoseph Lee, right back Jin-young Kim, and left back Rak-chan Kim, who combined for 389 goals, Incheon Metropolitan Corporation went on a 14-game winning streak. They ultimately achieved both the regular season and overall championship titles for the first time in the club’s 20-year history.
Doosan, which had won the overall championship for 10 consecutive seasons until last year, suffered due to a series of injuries to key players including goalkeeper Dong-wook Kim, Eui-kyung Jung, Tae-hoon Jo, and Jeon-gu Kang. While their offensive output remained decent, their defense collapsed, allowing 657 goals—the second most in the league—which proved to be their undoing. Finishing fourth in the regular season, Doosan failed to reach the playoffs for the first time.
SK Hawks, who had finished second in both the regular season and championship finals for three consecutive years, lamented their perennial runner-up status due to an offense that fell short of their defensive capabilities.
Chungnam Provincial Office finished the season in fifth place with a club-record 9 wins. Rookie center back Tae-kyung Yook, who ranked second in scoring with 164 goals, played a key role in helping the team escape last place for the first time in three years, offering new hope for the future.

In the women’s division, SK Sugar Gliders achieved an unprecedented feat by securing the overall championship for three consecutive seasons for the first time in Handball H League history. Built on a perfect balance of offense and defense, they became the first team to go undefeated (21 wins) in the regular season and then won the championship finals through a comeback. The trio of Eun-hye Kang, Ji-eun Song, and Kyung-min Kang, all born in 1996, anchored the team. New additions, scoring champion Ji-hye Choi (right back, 155 goals) and fast-break leader Ye-jin Yoon (left wing), boosted the team’s firepower.
Samcheok City Hall, which finished second in both the regular season and championship finals, surpassed 600 goals for the first time in club history. However, their heavy reliance on Yeon-kyung Lee left room for improvement.
Busan Facilities Corporation, bolstered by the return of “world star” Eun-hee Ryu, was considered a strong title contender. However, they finished third due to a lack of overall organization, including numerous turnovers.
