The Buffalo Bills will officially open their new stadium during Week 2 of the 2026 NFL season. The league announced Monday that Buffalo will host the Detroit Lions on Thursday Night Football on September 17, marking the first game at the newly constructed Highmark Stadium.

Prime Video will broadcast the matchup as part of its Thursday Night Football package. The Bills are replacing their longtime home, which originally opened as Rich Stadium in 1973, with a $2 billion facility located across Abbott Road.
Buffalo has been dominant in home openers recently, winning each of the past four since 2022 and averaging 38.5 points per game in those contests. The NFL is set to release the full 2026 regular season schedule on Thursday.
